Fresh Girly Makeup Tutorial !

Image

Hej Guys !

I am finally back by popular demand, at least I like to think so, at least I’m here right ? as you have notice, I haven’t posted a new blog in quite some time. This is due to a lot of stress trying to figure out what to do next with my life. I thought I was going to spend my life teaching English, but I have ben having my doubts the past year leaning more and more towards an education in makeup and hair. I still have a lot to find out regarding where I want to study and the economics of it all. But enough boring stuff, lets get to the tutorial.

As always, products used are following:

Face:

– Niveay Epress Hydration Primer

– Wet n Wild Cover All foundation in Fair

– Rimmel Wake me Up concealer in Ivory

– Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent

– Elf Cool bronzer

– Elf blush in D34

– Elf Golden Bronzer

Brows:

– Finding Color Eyeshadow palette – Light brownish grey

Eyes:

– Finding Color Eyeshadow Palette – Light brownish grey

– Wet n Wild Palette Trio in Knock on Wood

– Gosh Single Eyeshadow in 244

– Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner in ivory

– Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara

Lips:

– The Body Shop Lip Butter in Sweet Lemon

– Max Factor Lip Liner in Rose

– Coolcoz Gloss in Clear

Image

I started out by doing my base. I applied primer followed by the Wet n Wild foundation in the lightest shade there is. I was so happy when i found this little gem. It may not look like it because of all my freckles, but I am actually really pale underneath, or my body is anyway and your face should match your body. The only foundation I have ever found that really fit me were the Rimmel Wake me Up foundation in Light porcelaine which I only found by chance online, so I’m afraid that I won’t find it again once it runs out. But then I found this one from Wet n Wild, it is pretty much the same, except for a slightly thicker concistency and as far as I can see it is part of their permanent range. other than that I also did my brows by just dusting a grayish brown through the hairs to keep it natural, applied concealer and then applied some lip balm to moisturize my lips.

Image

I then started the eyes by applying the lightest color in the wet n wild palette to my whole lid. It doesn’t show that well on picture, but I also applied the darkest of the purples on the outer edges of my lash line to darken it up.

Image

Again, the colors don’t really show up well on camera, but I applied the same brownish grey that I used for my brows, into my crease to give some definition. I also wiggled some black eyeshadow into the roots of my lashes to make them seem fuller. Further more I brought some of that dark purple down onto my lower lash line to make my bottom lashes seem fuller, God knows they need it.

Image

For the next step I applied a shimmery white to the inner corner to brighten up the the eyes al together. I then applied a flesh toned eyeliner in my waterline to open up the eyes and then finished them by putting on my mascara on my top and bottom lashes.

Image

I kept the face simple but fresh by only warming up the face a little bit with a cool toned bronzer and then applied the elf blush to the apples of my cheeks.

 Image

In the end I powdered my face to prevent shine and added highlight to the high points of my face. That being above my brows, bridge and tip of my nose, on my chin and at the top of my cheekbones. I finished the entire look by doing my lips. I first applied lipliner and then the lipstick. I then blotter my lips with some tissue paper then applied lipstick again to make it last longer and then added a tiny bit a clear gloss to the center of my lips to make them more plumb.

Image

And then one with the glasses of course.

That is the finished look for you guys, I hope you liked a more clean and fresh look this time, although the colors don’t show up too bright on camera. Please leave a comment if you liked it or have any requests for future looks. You can follow me on Facebook (Www.facebook.com/shakeupthemakeup), Instagram and Twitter (MrsBuchwald).

Hope yo enjoyed and I’ll talk to you soon !

MY Smokey eye with a sheer orange lip !

Image

Hey guys !

For my very first tutorial I showed you a recreation of Lisa Eldridge’s Classic Smokey eye. Therefor, today I thought I’d show you MY version of an easy smokey eye. If you want to know how I did this, then keep on reading.

Products used are:

Face:

–  Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Light Porcelaine

– Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory

– Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Brightening Concealer in Nude

– Finding Color Eyeshadow Palette – Light Beige and Light Grey

– Mac Blush in Dollymix

– Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent

– elf Bronzer in Golden Bronze

Eyes:

– Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette – Derailed and Poison

– Wet n Wild Single Eyeshadow in Brulee

– Any black Eyeshadow

– Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe

– Max Factor Mascara

Brows:

– elf  Eyebrow Kit in Ash

– Finding Color Eyeshadow Palette – Dark brownish grey

Lips:

– Body Shop Lip Butter in Sweet Lemon

– Collection 200 Lipstick in orange Punch

– Coolcoz Gloss in Clear

Image

As always I started with my base. This time I changed it a bit by applying foundation, I just got a new one and I’m really excited about it. Other than that I did the same as always. I applied concealer under my eyes and on any blemish I might have, did my brows and put on a good amount of lip balm.

Image

After doing my base, I applied the Colour Tattoo on my lid and into my crease as a base for the eyeshadow. I also applied some black eyeshadow into the roots of my lashes to make them seem fuller a the bottom and to hide any pink gashes that may peek through the lashes. I blended out the edges of the Colour Tattoo to make it more seamless.

Image

Afterwards I applied Poison on my lid almost all the way up to my crease, leaving just a small gab. I then took Derailed and applied it on the last of my lid and well into my crease. I know it looks crazy now, but it’ll be better once it’s all blended out.

ImageImage

Next, I blended out the edges of the eyeshadow with a good amount of Brulee making sure that it is really well blended and defused. I then applied Derailed onto the roots of my lower lashes. I also put a skin coloured eyeliner onto my waterline to open up the eyes. I used a skin coloured  eyeliner instead of white because white can look too stark.

Image

After that I applied the Maybelline concealer under my eyes to clean up from any fall out. I then finished the eyes by putting on mascara.

Image

Next I contoured my face by mixing a light beige and a light grey eyeshadow followed by applying blush to my cheeks.

Image

I finished it all by first applying powder to prevent shine and put on highlighter to the highest points of my face. I then did my lips by dabbing on an orange lipstick and blended it in with my finger. I topped it with a clear gloss and then it’s done. BTW, don’t mind the red mark on my chest, I just scratched it before I took the picture.

ImageImage

And then just a few with the glasses.

I hope you liked it, I especially like the orange lip. Have been wanting an orange lipstick for some time now and I think it’ll be very frequently used in the spring and summer time.

That’s it folks, please like and/or leave a comment if you have any requests for future blogs. I also do reviews and tags etc.

I hope you enjoyed and I’ll talk to you soon !

Q: Ever been in love?

A: Ooh yes, many times. Most of all with my current BF.

3

Q: Ever had a terrible breakup?

A: That kind of depends on how you define terrible, I’ve ever only been dumped and it felt terrible each time.

THEN, all of a sudden the grumpy old lady who stands behind me, tells me very rudely to get of the phone. I said goodbye to my BF and hung up. Then I said to her: what then? her respond was only to shake her head. I then asked her if I weren’t allowed to talk on the phone? she replied with an irritated yes, followed by me asking: Then what’s the problem? again she just shook her head, so I picked up my things rather aggressively and left the store. Valentines Look – Silver and pink !

Image

Hey guys !

Since Valentines Day is just around the corner, I thought I’d get on the trend and show you a Valentines look. The look is a bit bold so if you’re brave and comfortable with wearing makeup, you could absolutely wear this on a date. Otherwise I think it would be great for a night out with the girls (or guys 😉 ) as it is more of a party look. If you want to know how I got this look, then keep on reading.

First is products used:

Brows:

– elf Eyebrow Kit in Ash

– Finding Color Eyeshadow Palette, medium dark brownish grey and black

Eyes:

– Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette

– Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe

– Wet n Wild single eyeshadow in Brulee

– Rimmel Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex Mascara

– Rimmel Glam EyesDay to Night Mascara

Face:

– Maybelline Dream smooth Primer

– Rimmel Wake me Up concealer in 010 Ivory

– Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Brightening concealer in 02 Nude

– Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer

– Mac Blush in Dollymix

– elf Bronzer in Golden Bronzer

– Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Transparent.

Lips:

-The Body Shop Lip Butter in Sweet Lemon

– Kate Moss Lipstick in 113

– Coolcoz Lipgloss in Clear

Image

As always, I began by doing my base. Roughly described, I applied primer and concealer to the middle of my face and did my brows. I also put on some lip balm to moisturize my lips. For more info, check out my first tutorial.

Image

I then started by doing my eyes. I first applied Permanent Taupe on my lid and into my crease, as a base for the eyeshadow. Next I pushed some black eyeshadow into the very roots of my lashes to make them look fuller and conceal any pink gabs that may show through after applying the mascara. I also added the shadow X-rated above my crease to make a nice pink gradient onto the brow bone.

Image

Now comes the exciting part. I then applied the silver shadow Shellshock on my entire lid and lightly into my inner corner for a highlight. After that I applied the shadow Lovesick on the outer corner of my eye and into my crease and blended it out with a fluffy brush to make it more seamless. I went in again with both X-Rated and Lovesick after that, just because I didn’t think it was intense enough.

ImageImage

To finish the eye, I first blended out the edges of the pink and highlighted my brow bone with Brulee by Wet n Wild. Next I also applied a small amount of black eyeshadow into the roots of my lower lashes and finished by applying a good amount of mascara to the top and bottom lashes as well. After that, i applied a brightening concealer under my eyes to clean up my under eye area. I also added some of that same concealer to the bridge and tip of my nose and on my cupids bow to highlight those areas as well.

Image

Because the eyes are so strong I wanted the face to be really clean and soft. I then only added a very small amount of bronzer and no where near as much blush as it looks like in the picture, but it gets better once I buff it out with powder. Just because I didn’t think the pink on the eyes were strong enough, I added some of the blush were the pink was.

Image

I then applied powder to my entire face to prevent any shine as well as blend out the bronzer and blush. I also added highlighter to the highest points of my face being, above my brows, on the bridge and tip of my nose, on top of my cheekbones, on my cupids bow and on my chin.

Image

I finished the entire look by doing my lips. Again, the eyes are very strong so I kept the lips very simple. I applied a light layer of a nude lipstick and added a clear gloss on top.

ImageImage

And a few pictures with the glasses.

And that is the finished look. I hope you liked it and please rate and subscribe down below if you liked it. Please leave a comment if you liked it or have any request for future looks. Winged Out Soft Crease and Bright Pink lip !

Image

Hey Guys !

This week I’m bringing you a look that I love doing. As the title reveals, it’s a winged out, soft crease that I paired with a bright pink lip. I think it’s the perfect mixture of glam and everyday. To do this look I used my new baby, the Vice 2 palette from Urban Decay. In the spirit of keeping this blog on the shorter side, I’ll continue on with the tutorial.

First, products used:

Brows:

– elf Eyebrow Kit in Ash

– Finding Color Eyeshadow Palette

Face:

– Maybelline Dream Smooth Primer

– Rimmel wake Me Up Concealer in 010 Ivory

– Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch brightening concealer in 02 Nude

– Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer

– Mac Blush in Breath of Plum

– elf Bronzer in Golden Bronzer Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Transparent.

Eyes:

– Urban Decay Vice 2 palette

– Wet n Wild single Eyeshadow in Brulee

– Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe

– Rimmel Scandal Eyes  Lycra Flex Mascara

– Rimmel Glam Eyes Day to Night Mascara

– Maybelline Master precise Liquid Liner in Black

Lips:

– Max factor Lip Liner in Rose

– Maybelline Lipstick in Vivid Rose

– Body Shop Lip Butter in Sweet Lemon

Image

As always I started with my base. For more information you can check out my first tutorial. Roughly explained, I put on primer to the center of my face, applied concealer in the same, plus covered any blemishes I might have and did my brows.

Image

After doing my base I applied Maybelline’s Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe to my lid and into my crease. I also put some black eyeshadow into the roots of my lashes to darken them and make them seem thicker. I’m going to put on liquid liner later on and the black eyeshadow is going to help conceal any gabs that may show through the lashes. I also put on some lip balm to make sure the lips are moist when I get around to those.

Image

Next I applied Dope to my lid for a wash of light shimmery color. I then put Habit just above my crease for a nice transition from my dark crease into my brow bone.

Image

To make the soft crease I first applied Poison in my crease and winged it out by following to natural shape of my eye.

Image

To make sure that the crease was not too harsh, I blended it out with a taupe color called Derailed to soften the upper edges of the dark grey crease.

ImageImage

Afterwards I blended it all out from above my crease and up to my brow with Brulee from Wet n Wild. I went in again with both Poison and Derailed  until I was happy with the intensity. Last I put on liquid liner. I connected it to the tip of the winged out shadow and brought it in to the inner conner.

Image

I finished the eyes with a good layer of mascara. After doing that, I applied a brightening concealer underneath my eyes to make it look cleaner, on the bridge and tip of my nose, on my cupids bow and on my chin.

Image

I then went to finish my face by contouring and warming up my face with Bourjois’ Chocolate Bronzer and added the blush. It looks quite strong in the picture, but it’ll look much better when powder is added.

Image

I finished the face completely by adding powder all over. I also applied highlighter to the top of my cheekbones, the bridge and tip of my nose, my cupids bow, my chin and above mu brows.

ImageImage

I did my lips by lining and filling them with the Max Factor lip liner and then applying Maybelline’s Vivid Rose lipstick on top of it.

ImageImage

And of course, a few pictures with the glasses.

Please leave a comment if you liked it or have any requests for future looks.

Thanks for watching and I’ll talk to you soon !

Review – Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette !

Image

Hey Guys !

This week I’m bringing you a review of Urban Decay’s Vice 2 Palette. I got it for christmas and I have worn it basically every day since. This is my first Urban Decay product so I don’t have anything to compare it to quality wise, but hopefully that wont matter. So far I am really in love with this palette. It has so many colors, from neutrals, to purples, to blues and greens to silvers, greys and blacks. I’m gonna start with the first row and work my way down.

Image

From left to right we have ; Smokeout, Lovesick, Shellshock, Coax and X-Rated.

Smokeout is a really dark, almost black, brown. It has great opacity and is great for a smokey look or for darkening the crease. The texture of it is very soft  which makes it easy to blend.

Lovesick is in all simplicity a matte black with silver glitters in it. The glitters are very fine, so it is not going to get chunky, but if you want the glitter to really show when you apply it, don’t tap off the excess on the brush, because you will loose some of that glitter.

Shellshock is something very special. I have never seen a silver more intense than this one. It is insanely pigmented and even more soft. It only took one swipe to make the swatch in the picture. you can pack it on with a flat brush and get amazing intensity or you can lightly dap into the shadow with a fluffy brush and apply it on top of another color for some light glitter which I have done sometimes and it looks amazing. It also works really well as an inner corner highlighter.

Coax and X-Rated are pretty similar. They’re two pinks, one light and one darker. they both have a satin finish and have good pigmentation.

Image

From left to right; Prank, Madness, Strike, Stash and Poison

Prank is a dark matte teal leaning more towards the green side with emerald shimmer running through it and the picture really doesn’t do it justice.

Madness is a beautiful deep blue teal with really good pigmentation. It has a really soft texture and can be used for so many looks.

Strike is a pretty gold shade with the same soft texture like Madness and it has a satin finish. There is nothing unique about it, since gold is very common in palettes like this.

Stash on the other hand is something that I haven’t had before. The texture is very similar to Strike and some of the others and is has nice payoff once applied. It is an old gold with a sort of green tint to it. It would be perfect for blending out the crease or darkening up the outer corner on top of a gold like Strike. You can also use it for a one shadow look and still have an interesting look that is different at the same time.

Poison is a matte dark grey with silver flecks running through it. For a matte color it has a soft, almost velvet, finish to it. It would be lying to say that it is flaky in any way.

Image

From left to right; Radar, Damaged, Voodoo, Betrayal and Derailed.

The next row must be the most impressive of the bunch. These colors are all extremely pigmented and most of them very soft. It only took one swipe to make most of these swatches.

Radar is a really pretty bronze with crazy opacity and great texture as well as a soft satin finish, only upstaged by Shellshock.

Damaged is a really really really pretty forest green. It has the same texture as Radar as well as the same great opacity. I cannot wait to do an extreme smokey eye with this one, it would look incredible.

Voodoo is a very blue toned dark purple with silver flecks in it. It is really soft and blends out great. I recommend using it with Betrayal as they work so beautiful together.

Betrayal is another really special color. it is a little more dense than the others, yet still so soft that it isn’t flaky. It is almost a duo chrome as it changes from a darker purple to a very light lilac depending on the angle.

Derailed is another one of my favorites. It is a soft taupe that is really easy to use with almost any of the other colors because it is so neutral. It can also be used on its own because it has a satin finish, so it would still look great alone.

Image

From left to right; Dope, Toxic, Habit, Ambush and Rewind.

Dope is a very light pale pink. It’s great for just a wash of color on the lid or as a highlighter under the brow. It is soft, but not as soft as Radar etc.

Toxic is a really pretty rose color that goes really well with neutral looks. as many of the others it is very soft with a satin finish and it blends beautifully.

Habit is one of those great transition colors. For a matte shadow I am really impressed. With lighter cream colors like this you rarely come across one as soft as this one. It’s a tad too dark for me to use as highlighter under the brow, but for darker skin tones than mine (which is basically milk) I think it would work well.

Ambush is a pretty, dark, bronze and is very similar to Radar. the only difference being that Radar is slightly darker and has bronze glitters running through it were as, Ambush just has a satin finish.

Rewind is another great blending color just like Habit. It is also just as soft which is quite impressive for a matte shadow. It is great for   darkening the crease and the outer corner.

I really love this palette and in my opinion, Urban Decay really came up with some unique shades for this one. For one, Shellshock, the silver one, is truly amazing just by how soft and pigmented it is which is so rare for silvers like that. Others like Prank, Stash, Damaged and Betrayal are all colors that really tickles my fancy 😉 As mentioned earlier, this is my first go with Urban Decay products, but if this is the standard for their eyeshadows, then it is definitely not my last go with them. Be sure to check out my instagram (MrsBuchwald) for looks based on this palette.

New Years Eve Look – Dramatic Cut Crease, Nude Lip !

Hey Guys !

I know I promised you two New Years looks, but things got way too busy during the holidays for me to have the time and so I never got to actully post one before New Years. I thought I’d still show you what I would have posted before NY, had I had the time. I am bringing you a dramatic, cut crease smokey eye to make up for it. Plus, I’ve never tried to do a cut crease before, so that was really fun to try. It is not as difficult as it may seem, but it is somewhat time consuming because it is more technical than just blending colors.

Keep reading if you want to know how I got this look, but first, products used:

Face:

– Nivea Express Hydration Primer

– Rimmel Wake me Up Concealer in 010 Ivory

– Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch brightening concealer in  02 Nude

– Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent

– elf Bronzer in Golden Bronzer

Image

I started of by doing my base by applying primer and concealer followed by doing my brows. For more details about that, check out my recreation of Lisa  Eldrige’s Classic Smokey Eye.

Image

I then began with the eyes by applying a purple base for the eyeshadow in order to make it stand out better and keep it on longer. I also outlined the crease with a medium dark brown to get an idea of were the cut crease should be.

Image

Afterwards, I darkened up the crease with a matte black and buffed it  out with a pencil brush and a light grey, also slightly winging it out for added effect.

Image

I then applied a light gold in the inner corners, a medium blue to the middle of the lid and a dark blue at the outer corners. Then blending them lightly together with a fluffy brush. I would love to give you the names of the eyeshadows, but the plastic sheet that came in the palette, which usually shows the names, was blank an I couldn’t find it on their website.

Image

Next, I tightlined with a black kohl eyeliner and mimicked the bottom lashline to the top; gold on the inner corner, medium blue in the middle and dark blue on the outer corner.

Image

I kept going back in with the black in the crease and buffed it out until I was happy with the intensity of it. I then did a dramatic flick for extra drama, I really think it did the look good and made it more fascinating.

ImageImage

I then added mascara to the top and bottom lashes and then also did a tiny flick on the outer corner on the bottom to make it seem like  my lashes are casting a shadow. Now, you could absolutely wear some false lashes with this and I really really tried you guys, I truly did, but I am simply a rubbish at doing full lashes, plus the ones I used were way to big for my taste. If you do use lashes, use some that only enhances your own. Because the look is so dark to begin with, the lashes are going to cover up the look too much if they are too big.

Image

Since the eyes are so strong, I wanted to make the face very soft. To do that I used a large powder brush to apply the bronzer on my temples, under my cheekbones, and under my jaw. I then applied some blush as well and finished it ll of by adding powder to my whole face.

Image

For last, I did my lips. I lined and filled in my lips with a light pink liner, then added a nude lipstick on top and finished of with a clear gloss. To end it completely I also applied highlighter to the highest points of my face.

Image

Hey Guys !

Today I’m bringing the second christmas look of the season. This look focuses more on the eyes and sports a nude lip to go with it. I really loved this look more than anticipated, once it was finished. It is a gold/purple look, the two always compatible colors, with a nude pinkish lip. If you want to know how I got this look, then keep on reading.

Products used are:

Face:

As always, I started with doing my base by applying primer, lip balm and concealer and doing my brows. For further details about my base, check out my Recreation of Lisa Eldrige’s Smokey Eye.

Image

After doing my base, I went on to do my eyes. I first applied a light beige just above my crease to make an easier transition from crease to brow. I then applied the Color Tattoo, Eternal Gold, on my lid and on the outer edge of my bottom lid as a base for the Sleek eyeshadow, Chocolate penny, that will go on top of it. A tip for the base is to apply it with your fingers rather than a brush. I found that I got a more opaque and even application by doing so. where the brush made it clumpy and uneven. Of course this may wary from person to person depending on which brush you use, but this is just my opinion.

ImageImage

I then applied Chocolate Penny from Sleek on my lid and lower lashline, really packing it on for full opacity and shimmer. Next, I applied a medium dark purple in my crease, all the way into the corner of my eye and then blending out the edges. I then followed up by adding an even darker purple, just at the outer edges of both my lid, my lower lasline and my crease for added intensity and more purple, (you can never have to much purple, am I right? ;)). The camera does wash out the colors a bit though, it is more intense in reality.

ImageImage

I then finished the eyes by buffing out the edges of the purple and highlighting under my brow with Brulee from Wet n Wild followed by applying mascara to both top and bottom lashes.

Image

I finished of my face by applying the chocolate bronzer in my hairline, on my temples, in the hollows of my cheeks and under my jaw to lightly contour and and warm of my face. This was followed by putting on my Mac blush in Dollymix, topped of with powdering my entire face to prevent shine and adding highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones, above my brows, on the bridge of my nose, on my cupids bow, on my chin and lightly under my brows as well.

Image

For last I did my lips. I removed any excess lip balm that may be on my lips and lined and filled my lips with the light pink lipliner from Max Factor, applied a nude lipstick from kate moss on top and then added a clear gloss for some shine. And this then completes the look.

And then just a few pics for my fellow four-eyes out there 😉

Christmas Look – Neutral Eye, Bold Lip !

Image

Hey Guys !

This week I’m bringing you the first of two christmas looks that I will be choosing between for christmas eve. This first look is based on a more neutral eye and a bold lip, while the next one is going to focus on the eyes with a more neutral lip. I did provide two options for lips in this tutorial though. If you want to see how I got this look, then keep on reading.

But first things first is the products used:

Face:

– Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in 010 Ivory

– The Body Shop Lip Butter in Sweet Lemon

– Bourjois Délice De Pudre Bronzing Powder

– Mac Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Dollymix

– Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 001 Transparent

– elf Bronzer in Golden Bronzer

Brows:

– elf Eyebrow Kit in Ash

– Finding Color Eyeshadow Palette E15 – Medium dark brownish grey, light beige

Eyes:

– Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe

– elf Beauty Book in Natural Look

– Wet wild Single Eyeshadow in Brulee

– MaxFactor Masterpiece Max Mascara

Lips:

– Max factor Lip Liner in Rose

– elf Lip Liner in Bitter

– Rimmel Apocalips in Solstice

– Rimmel Apocalips in Eclipse

Now on with the tutorial.

Image

I started of by doing my base, which I am not going to go into too much detail about since I do it exactly the same pretty much every time. But in rough details, I just did my concealer (rarely use foundation) and my brows. I also put on a good amount of lip balm so my lips were nice and smooth when I came around to doing those.

Image

I began with the eyes by applying the Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe on my lid and into my crease and buffed out the edges with a stiff brush. I then applied the light beige just above my crease to make a smoother transition from crease to eyebrow when I blend later on. I know it looks as if I applied a dark color on the outer V of my eyes, but I didn’t, it is simply my eye casting a shadow.

Image

After that I put on the shade called Night Highlight from the elf Beauty Book, onto my lid and the shade called Day Base on the outer most corner of my lid, just to create some dimension. The camera really isn’t doing these shades any justice, they are much more shimmery in reality.

Image

To follow up, I applied the shade called Day Contour into my crease and highlighted under my brow with Wet Wild’s single eyeshadow in brulee which I also used to blend out the edges of the crease color.

ImageImage

I then finished the eyes by first applying a mixture of Day Highlight and Night Highlight to the middle of my lids. This creates the illusion that the eyeshadow is more metallic and it gives a really nice effect when you bat those lashes. Secondly I put on two good coats of mascara and the eyes are done.

ImageImage

Afterwards I applied the Bourjois Bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks, in my hairline and under my jaw, to warm up my face and lightly contour as well. I then applied blush on my cheeks and finished the face by applying powder, thereby erasing any shine and also using it to slightly buff out my blush and bronzer.

ImageImage

These are then the two options that I would use on my lips. The left one a neutral rosy pink and the right one, a dark vampy red. Before doing my lips, I removed any excess lip balm left on my lips. I did the one to the left by first outlining my lip and then filling it in with the light rosy lipliner from Max Factor and then applying Rimmel’s Apocalips in Solstice on top. I did the dark lip by outlining and filling in my lip with the dark red lipliner from elf and then applying Rimmel’s Apocalips in Eclipse on top of that. I then finished the whole thing off, by using the lightest shade from elf’s Golden Bronzer as a highlighter, on the tops of my cheekbones, above my brows, on the bridge of my nose, on my cupid’s bow, on my chin and ever so lightly under my brows for added effect.

Birthday Haul Pt. 2 !

Hey Guys !

This is the second and last installment in my series of birthday hauls. I have gotten so many great makeup related things for my birthday and I could not be more pleased. This is going to be quite a long haul, so I’m just going to let you get on with it.

ImageImage

The first thing I’m gonna show is this beautiful gift set from Baylis and Harding. It contains a body lotion, a bar of hand soap and a shower gel. I have only tried the body lotion and it is very nice. It moisturizes really well and does not leave you greasy or sticky, but I do have an issue with it, the scent. The scent of this set is called Black Orchid and I just don’t find it all that compelling. It’s not that it smells bad or anything, I’m just not crazy about it either. It has a sort of harsh sweet scent that some may really like, I juts like it when it is more fresh and light.

ImageImage

The next thing is this pair of half lashes that I am really excited about. I haven’t tried them yet though, because I am saving them for christmas and New Years. I have always had a problem with lashes, either they irritated my inner corner because they were to long or they got stuck on my real lashes because they are very naturally curvy. then I bought some individual lashes, thinking they would be easier to use, they were not! If anything requires practice, it’s individual lashes. So my theory is that these will be just right for me, if not, I will just be doomed to never were lashes again. Or maybe more practice… yeah more practice.

ImageImageImage

Next item on the list is this Color Sensational Lipstick from Maybelline in Feel Pink. I have several lipsticks from Maybelline already and I really like their colors and formula. As the rest of them, this lipstick is really nice end creamy and can be dapped on for a very subtle and sheer effect or you can apply a few coats for full opacity. It is a very neutral pink that would go well with several different looks. It has a satin finish and has fairly decent staying power. I don’t have anything bad to mention about this one. Tip: It goes really nice underneath my Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in 201 Solstice that was featured in my previous birthday haul.

These masques are really great. I have tried them some times before and they get the job done. I really think they do what they say on the packaging. I already used the one called Extra Olive – Ultra Deep Cleansing masque, and boy did it clean. it completely cleaned my blocked pores for one, but in order to clean so well it also removes some of you natural oils in the skin so it is very important to use a good moisturizer afterwards. Other than that, these are really great and I will definitely continue to use them.

ImageImageImage

This one is one of my absolute favorites of these two birthday hauls. It’s a glitter polish from OPI called Pink Yet Lavender and it is just so stunning! I applied it a few days ago on top of Max Factor’s Candy Rose and I cannot stop looking ad my nails, it is just the perfect combination that I can not get enough of. I posted a picture of it on my Instagram (MrsBucwald) a few days ago so please be sure to check it out! I think this glitter polish would look great on almost every pink color, except for maybe a hot or neon pink, but otherwise you are good to go. It also looks great on top of a dark purple. Nothing bad about this product at all. It also has great lasting power, I’ve been wearing this for about 4 days now and it has not chipped the slightest yet. Definitely getting some more of the glitter polishes from OPI.

My second to last item is this nail stamping set from Depend. I was over the top excited when I found this down at my local Matas. I have been wanting a stamping set for aaaages now, but have never really gotten around to buying it. So when I found that they had it in an actual store and not just online, I couldn’t get my arms down. It contains a scraper, a stamper, two plates with different patterns and a black and white stamping polish. I did test it out on some old chipped nails just to try it, but nothing worth showing. I have a few looks in mind with it for Christmas and New Years so again, please keep an eye out for it on my Instagram (MrsBuchwald).

My last and absolute favorites of these two hauls are my very first Mac products, these gorgeous 3 blushes from Mac. The first one, and my favorite of the 3, is a sheertone blush called Breath of Plum. It looks amazing and I use it pretty much every day. I can’t explain how much I love this blush, I just can’t get enough of it. The second one is a sheertone shimmer blush called Dollymix. I have seen tons of people on Youtube using this and I always thought that it looked so amazing that I decided that I wanted it for myself, so of course that was on the wish list this year as well. You could easily use this for everyday use as well, but because it has some shimmer in it, it could also be used for an evening look. The last one is simply a powder blush because it has full pigmentation and a matte finish and it is called Frankly Scarlet. This blush is very unique as it is a very dark red in the pan. At first it looks somewhat scary, but the trick with this one is to apply it as lightly handed and sheer as possible. It can be a bit tricky at first, but once get it on just right, it gives you the most beautiful natural flush to your cheeks. My theory for why is that because it has such red undertones instead of pink, it gives the resemblance of a flush more true to naturally flushed cheeks from a cold wind or a crush. Either way I am in complete love with these blushes and hope to get more of them in the future. They last pretty long on your cheeks, but can easily be refreshed with very little effort.
